CSHRM Quarterly Virtual Meeting

The presentation will be 21^st Century Cures Act presented by Jennifer Cox, J.D., from Hartford's Cox & Osowiecki, LLC.

The regulations drastically change the requirements for the release of information by healthcare providers and will provide a broad overview on: the CMS Interoperability and Patient Access final rule and the ONC Interoperability, Information Blocking, and the Office of the National Coordinator Health IT Certification Program final rule.  These new rules represent the most comprehensive set of changes affecting medical record professionals since HIPAA Privacy started in 2003, and will require review and updating of many HIPAA policies and procedures. Deadlines for compliance occur as soon as April 5, 2021.  All healthcare workforce members with a role in record release, privacy & security, or IT compliance will need to be familiar with the key elements of these new rules.
